Press Release: Anthony Heard Steps Down as MD of BMG, to be replaced by Chris Weeks
Anthony Heard, the founder and owner of Braintree Motor Group (BMG), announced today that he will be stepping down as Managing Director of BMG effective 1st August 2023. Heard, who established BMG, a recently formed cooperative of bodyshops, will step aside to concentrate on the purchase of his own bodyshops, while at the same time, Chris Weeks will become the Group’s new MD joining the Board.
Heard stated, "I am proud of what we have achieved so far at BMG, and I will continue to support the cooperative as an active member. However, I believe it's time for me to step aside and focus on expanding my own businesses. I have great faith in Chris Weeks and his extensive experience in the bodyshop industry, and I believe he will take BMG to the next level of professionalism."
Weeks brings extensive experience in the bodyshop industry to his new role at BMG. As exiting Executive Director of the National Body Repair Association (NBRA), Weeks has worked tirelessly to bridge gaps between repairers and insurers. His track record of innovation and success in the industry will undoubtedly help BMG achieve its goals.
"I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to lead BMG," said Weeks. "I am looking forward to working with the team and the Group Repairers to drive innovation and success in the industry. Together, we can continue to build on the fantastic work that Anthony and the team have achieved. Anthony is aware that the Group needs to mature and as such will be passing over to me future industry communication.”
The transition of leadership will take place over the coming weeks, with Heard providing guidance and support to ensure a smooth and seamless handover.
